Privacy policy
We handle your personal data with care. This privacy policy explains which data we collect, why we do so and what your rights are.
Which data do we collect?
When you fill in a form, we only store the data we need to process your request or donation:
- your name and email address;
- your address, if you receive something by post;
- your bank details, if you set up a direct debit;
- the amount and frequency of your donation.
What do we use your data for?
We use your data only for the purpose you gave it for. Think of processing your donation, sending a thank-you email or, if you agreed to it, sending our newsletter.
Newsletter
You can unsubscribe at any time through the link at the bottom of every newsletter.
Payments
Payments go through a payment provider. We do not see your bank details; we only receive confirmation that the payment went through.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep your data no longer than needed. We keep donation records for seven years, because the law requires it.
Your rights
Do you want to know which data we hold about you, or have it changed or deleted? This is how it works:
- Send an email with your request to privacy@example.org.
- Within five working days we confirm that we have received your request.
- Within a month you receive a response to your request.
Not happy with how we handle your data? Then you can lodge a complaint with the privacy regulator in your country.
